O O O I'm so Excited!

Yes indeed I am. I've been dabbling in the downloading lately. Just picking up a bit of new music here and there. I was doing a search for Dntel (essentially Jimmy Tamborello, who put out the fantastic Life is Full of Possibilities a few years back and who is also half of Postal Service together with Death Cab for Cutie's Benjamin Gibbard) and found an album with a Dntel mix. It's called Monika Force. Celebrates 40 releases under the german label of the same name. This is the first time in ages I've listened to something and just immediately loved it. It's got some chocolatey smooth synth but with that slightly dark germanic edge at times. Nice electronica, slightly glitchy. European sensibilities. What fucking topped it all off with a cherry was a cover of Brian Eno's "I'll Come Running" off Another Green World. In a German accent. Loving it. Hey, and there's a song called "Burka Blue" by an Afghani all-girl band. First listen only so far, but I can see this being on heavy rotation for a few weeks at least.

And I was right about my "Masochistic Tendencies" post. Three hits a day at least for specific searches. I wonder if many of them stick around.

I'm jealous of people who download. They won't have anything to sell when they want to get rid of the music. You can't sell back a download. I'm jealous of people who download.

I try before I buy. I like it, I go out and buy it. I don't like it, I dump it. Don't be jealous anonymous, it's not attractive. Anyway, I'm a graphic designer and I like all the packaging and stuff. Sometimes I like to read the lyrics and sing along. My family doesn't like that much.

I just love Brian Eno! I used to hum "Deep Blue Day" when I was pregnant and trying to lower my blood pressure as a lay on the examining table in the doctors office. In my mind I would be floating in Biscayne Bay. I love how people can pick certain songs out and place a moment in time to them.

Hey-I've been busy tring to finish up work and plan my son's BIG 3 year old bash. I hope you guys have a great vacation!

He was so beyond his time, don't you think? His music seems to transcend time. I recently rebought Taking Tiger Mountain (by Strategy) and Before and After Science (used to have them on cassette back in the day). They don't seem dated. I grew up listening to Another Green World. My brothers' music collection was a big influence. So many great memories of music as a kid.

Hope the birthday bash goes well. At least it's easy to please a 3-year-old. Try organising something impressive for a 16-year-old. Something I'm going to have to do in a couple of months. Ideas?!

Yeah anonymous, welcome to the 21st century (duh). Anonymous, eh? That could've been anyone. Identity theft is becoming a worldwide crisis. At any rate, what's this bit about ##Gay sex##!!! I love how people can pick certain songs out and place a moment in time to them. Congratulations on landing the latest design job, Rose. now I gotta check out that Eno cover ;)
