SESSION 67: At Home With Rose

Scott Walker vs Julian Cope

>> DOWNLOAD HERE <<

Guest selectors for this week's show are David Cauchi and Daniel Calvert.

It's a face-off: Long-time weirdo and stone circle expert who used to front Teardrop Explodes, Julian Cope, vs pop crooner and experimentalist ex-Walker Brothers, Scott Walker.

Listen in while we swill back the beer and decide who is The Man - Julian or Scott? Or will it be a draw?

Jazz interlopers

>> DOWNLOAD HERE <<

Busy week. Playlisted with only 2 hours to go! Madness.

Some of these reek of jazz. Some have been lighted infused or have dipped their toes in a pool of jazz. One just sat next to a jazz pianist on the bus. (Okay, it's a very thin thread, but too bad.)

Best finds: Glass Vaults free EP download (Sonorous Circle) and Public Guilt free sampler (thanks Daniel). Nice review of Glass Vaults EP here on Cyclic Defrost and here on Einstein Music Journal. I haven't seen them live, but I hear they are great. They'll be supporting Xiu Xiu on their tour here in NZ.

Wonderful purchase: the 3cd set of Gold Leaf Branches (Digitalis) bought off Diogenes - the ever-tempting array of digital output coming from some of the best labels around.

Delighted to be playing: Three beautiful tracks by zero.enmity - a friend and an amazing musician.

Pretty synth sounds tonight. Groove down. Sink some G&Ts. Perhaps some martinis if you are really feeling in the mood. A very sweet and delicious mix tonight.

My recommendation: visit Boomkat and check out their "14 tracks" - a nice themed weekly mix of 14 tracks that you can purchase. All out of the Boomkat catalogue. Two tracks this week are from one of their selections. A great way to hear new music. www.14tracks.com
